Service and data abroad

Hello there. I am currently in Belgium and don’t have any service or data but have the package for everything to work in the EU. I turned my data roaming on and I don’t have any blockages on my account so I am very frustrated with this not working. I can’t call anyone to help me with this because my service isn’t working and your website is not letting me personally chat with anyone, so I have come on this forum in hopes of a fast reply. Please tell me how you can accommodate me with this because I am paying extra money for this bundle purposely for this trip and it isn’t even working.

Hi @Teresa98,

I immediately checked your account and saw that you have a new contract, transferred from a PrePaid account. Therefore there was still a barring active, which is standard practice for all of these transfers. Normally this barring will be active for the term before paying two invoices, but I just lifted the barring of your subscription. If you restart your device everything should work!

You have a Go Unlimited rateplan, so you can use your data abroad, but you're not paying extra for this. You're paying the same amount abroad as you are in the Netherlands. 😉

thanks for your help and changing my username. I didn’t realize that’s how my name appeared.

I restarted my iPhone 3 times and still have no service or data. I hope there is another solution.

Sorry to hear te removal of the barrings didn't work for you. Of course we're going to try to solve this problem anyway!

Did you turn on Data Roaming in the settings of your iPhone? This will make sure your phone is able to connect with foreign providers. After that, can you try to manually switch between providers and try if that works? Available providers in Belgium are Orange, Proximus or Telenet - BASE.

Hopefully this will work. If not, can you tell us for how long you're still staying in Belgium and where exactly? If you're there for a little while more, our specialists can try to research this!
