Replace Zyxel T50 with Lynksys WRT1900ACS Router

I am trying to replace the Zyxel router with a Linksys WR1900, I want to remove the Zyxel and connect the Linksys directly to the modem.

Unfortunately I am unable to connect top the internet when I try this.

I don’t want to use the zyxel as a bridge  as this wastes energy.

Any ideas how to make this setup work?

thanks

Hello @Troyagain

You can not directly connect you WRT to the mediaconverter, because you have to setup the WRT to recognize the VLAN’s on the WAN port.

I found an article on the Linksys support, about how to setup those VLAN’s from your ISP, hope that helps you at this point.

VLAN 300 internet

VLAN 640 IPTV

Telephone will not work on your own router.

Thanks for the info.

So the VLAN should be 300 for internet.

I don’t use TV or Telephony.

Thats fantastic, thank you
